Why are we teaching phonics in fourth grade and asking first graders to do “deep reading” of words they haven’t been taught to read?

Wouldn’t it be better to start building a literacy McMansion on a solid foundation in the primary grades? Everyone Reading can help you do that.

First comes Phonological Awareness. With our simple alphabetic reading system, which assigns symbols to sounds, it is important to be able to distinguish and manipulate those sounds in order to assign letters to them.

SPIRE and SOUNDS IN MOTION are full and closed. Sounds Sensible is also an effective program for teaching Phonological Awareness leading into phonics and seats are still available.
